WLED RS-485 range extender / DMX adapter
WLED RS-485 range extender / DMX adapter

Product DescriptionThis adapter extends the ABC! WLED Controller (5-24V) V43 with two RS-485 interfaces. These can be used either as a so-called "long-range extender" to transmit the data signal to LEDs over long distances, or as DMX inputs or outputs (for DMX input WLED software version 0.16.x or higher or MoonModules required). The adapter can also be used with the ABC! WLED V73 mini controller (but with different GPIO settings!).The first channel can be used as an RS-485 transmitter or receiver (adjustable via DIP switches) and has a switchable 120-ohm termination resistor (via DIP switch). The second channel can only be used as a transmitter (output) and has a fixed 120-ohm termination resistor.Operation as a "Long Range Extender"Channel 1 and/or 2 can be usedLED data settings in WLED: GPIO 32 for channel 1, GPIO 14 for channel 2Ethernet or telephone cables, for example, can be used. Or simply a twisted pair. The tested transmission length is up to 300 meters. If the controller and LED strips are powered by different power supplies, a GND connection must also be established via transmission cables.An RS-485 range extender receiver (available in our shop) can be used on the LED sideDIP switch settings for channel 1: 1 & 2 ON, 3 & 4 OFFOperation as a DMX inputChannel 1 must be usedWLED version 0.16.x or higher, compiled with ESP-IDF V4 required. Currently only available as an Alpha/Nightly build. Available at https://wled-install.github.io/Recommended DIP switch settings: 1 ON, 2 OFF, 3 ON, 4 OFFWLED settings for DMX input: DMX RX: GPIO 36; DMX TX: GPIO 32; DMX EN: GPIO 15Note: The DMX specification requires that the receiver be galvanically isolated on the RS-485 interface to avoid ground loops. The adapter itself does not implement galvanic isolation. However, since LED strips used with WLED are powered by a galvanically isolated power supply, the entire controller, including the adapter and connected LEDs, is typically galvanically isolated from the AC mains and thus also from the DMX transmitter, and is only connected to it via DMX cables. This also prevents ground loops.Operation as a DMX outputChannel 1 must be usedWLED software must be compiled with the WLED_ENABLE_DMX option. Furthermore, the hard-coded GPIO 2 must be changed to GPIO 32. Use a ready-made WLED version with DMX out from https://wled-install.github.ioMandatory informationWEEE Reg. ABC! WLED controller board (5-24V)
ABC! WLED controller board (5-24V)

(Shipping only to: DE, PL) Description of the WLED Controller Board V43: With this product, for example, a string of lights or lighting system controlled via WLAN can be set up. It is based on an ESP32 microcontroller. To set up a chain of lights or lighting system, a power supply unit and one or more LED strips are required in addition to this product. The following LED types are supported: WS2812B, WS2813, WS2815, SK6812(RGBW, RGBNW, RGBWW), APA102, WS2801, WS2811, LPD8806, WS2814 RGBW, COB-RGB WS28xx, WS2805 SPI RGBCCT (as of WLED 0.15.x), APA106 (as of WLED 0.15.x). 5V, 12V and 24V LED strips are supported. The controller essentially consists of an ESP32-WROOM-32E (4MB) module, backup capacitor and an SN74AHCT level converter to ensure trouble-free operation of the LEDs. New is revision 3: prepared for Ethernet adapters (available separately in the shop). This product is delivered pre-programmed with the following open source software for testing purposes: https://github.com/wled/WLED (SW licenses here) Wiki (in English) for this open source software can be found at: https://kno.wled.ge A helpful WLED FAQ can be found at https://wled-faq.github.io/ Attention: the voltage of your power supply must always correspond to the voltage of the LEDs!  For example, for 12V LEDs you need a 12V power supply. Usage information: WLED_V43_Controller_Usage_Info.pdfAttention LED strips with Clock signal: depending on LED type you would eventully need to reduce the Clock from "Normal" to "Slow" in LED preferences for stable operation of the strip.Attention analogue, non-addressable (PWM controlled) LED strips: additional hardware is required, for example PWM Board Scope of delivery: WLED controller board, tested and pre-programmed Accessories available separately: USB-C programming adapter Enclosure INMP441 digital microphone Line-In to I2S adapter Ethernet (LAN) adapterRS-485 range extender / DMX adapter Advantages of our WLED controllers: We use stable, correctly dimensioned voltage converters with a margin to ensure stable function even with rather difficult power supplies Our WLED controllers have extensive plug & Play interfaces. This allows for a clean setup without “tangled cables” We use high-quality, industrially manufactured and assembled circuit boards. This is an important component for the long service life of our WLED controllers Our WLED controllers are equipped with original ESP8266 / ESP32 modules from Espressif that are qualified according to technical standards. No cheap and questionable replicas! We only use fast level shifters and EMC filters at outputs to generate perfect control signals for LED strips with improved EMC properties The power path in our WLED controllers has been extensively tested and high-quality screw terminals are used, which guarantees the specified current carrying capacity and long service life Our WLED controllers include various safety measures: fuse in the power current path, protective circuitry in the electronic part Our WLED controllers are tested and pre-programmed before delivery. This makes an easy WLED start possible Technical data: Supply voltage: 4.7 V to 24.3 V Ambient temperature operation: +5°C … +35 °C WiFi standard: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz Dimensions: 78x46.5x22 mm Maximum permanent current carrying capacity power path (+V, GND): up to 13 A (depending on cable cross section and environment) Average power consumption in power on state (without load path): 0.60 W Average power consumption in power off (networked standby mode): 0.27 W Average power consumption in AP mode (configuration mode): 0.6 W Current consumption, peak (without load): 800 mA Efficiency at full load: typically 94% Power loss at full load: typ. 4 W Ambient temperature storage/transport: -20 °C … 60 °C Screw terminals: Target torque: 0.4 Nm Screw terminals, cable cross section: 0.5 … 2.5 mm2, rigid or flexible with wire end sleeve Screw terminals, stripping/sleeve length: 6-7 mm / 8 mm Antenna: integrated circuit board antenna 3.4 dBi Weight: 29.2 g Maximum permanent current carrying capacity of the power path of the device (power supply connection to the LED strip connection, each for +V and GND)*: Cable cross section / maximum permanent current carrying capacity (*): 0.5 mm2 / 3 A 0.75 mm2 / 6 A 1 mm2 / 9 A 1.5 mm2 - 2.5 mm2 / 13 A *This information alone may not be used to dimension the cables.
